Sven Greiner’s(DJ Shog) Biography

Sven Holger Greiner, better known by his stage name DJ Shog, was a German trance DJ and producer.

Born in Hamburg on November 8, 1976, he became interested in electronic music in the early 1990s.

His career as a DJ began with performances at school and private parties, progressing to involvement in DJ competitions and becoming a resident DJ in numerous clubs throughout northern Germany.

DJ Shog’s breakthrough came with his Technics DJ Set compilation series. He mixed the first CD, and the second featured guest DJs such as Cosmic Gate, DuMonde, Talla 2XLC, Green Court, and Nic Chagall. This series’ success drove him further into the music arena.

DJ Shog’s first single, “This Is My Sound,” was published in 2001 and peaked at number 54 on the German charts and number 40 on the British singles charts. “The 2nd Dimension,” his follow-up song, peaked at number 62.

He released numerous other tracks that charted in Germany over the years. “Another World,” the most successful single, spent 14 weeks on the German charts and peaked at number 35.

DJ Shog founded the music label 7th Sense Records with his buddy Torsten Stenzel in 2005. They collaborated on music under the alias Mandala Bros.

Building on his success, DJ Shog published his debut solo album, “My Sound,” in early 2006, which spent four weeks at the top of the German album charts.

He released his second album, “2Faces,” in the summer of 2007.

Under the alias Nature One Inc., DJ Shog partnered with the E-Cutz production crew to create anthems for the Nature One festival.

In addition, beginning in 2005, he released one tune on each issue of the Dream Dance compilation series under the alias Dream Dance Alliance.

DJ Shog worked significantly in the pop industry as a producer, remixer, and manager, in addition to his own music.

He worked as a producer on Kerstin Ott’s album “I Have to Tell You Something,” and as a remixer for artists such as Michelle, Wolfgang Petry, Modern Talking, Wolkenfrei, and Norman Langen under the aliases Jonny Nevs and DJ Echolot. He also handled the popular DJ, DJ Pierre.

DJ Shog died tragically on December 15, 2022, at the age of 46. His cause of death is unknown, leaving fans and the music community in sadness over the loss of a talented and renowned performer.
