Rebecca Gutman was the Head of Bonhomme Stud in Germany and while she was alive, she was able to manage the affairs and business of Bonhomme Stud in Werder/Potsdam (Germany) for many years.
She can be described as a successful entrepreneur, stallion owner, breeder and true horse enthusiast. It is interesting to note that Bonhomme Stud was set up by Rebecca Gutman’s mother, Evelyn Gutman.
Rebecca Gutman, as a person, was able to establish and live the philosophy of treating all horses with respect even though they are animals.
Her belief was that top-class sport works based on respectful treatment of the animals and species-appropriate training. The Bonhomme Stud, managed by Rebecca Gutman was able to produce famous stallions such as Morricone, Cadeau Noir, Maracana, Fiderdance, Grey Flannel or Zinedream.
Fiderdance scored points in World Cup qualifiers with Lena Waldmann. Morricone and Cadeau Noir were finalists in the Nuremberg Burg Pokal Finale and Louisdor Prize.
Rebecca Gutman had so much love for animals and that manifested in her stallions having so much sporting success. She referred to her stable as her own personal ‘Gaul village’ and she had the intention of not putting pressure on horses in order to be successful.
Rebecca Gutman did not only manage Bonhomme Stud; she was also a real estate developer and manager of commercial properties in West Berlin.
As a matter of fact, she was financially independent. She could match the likes of major stallion owners such as Helgstrand and Schockemöhle in auction duels.
