Christina Plate is a German actress. She was born on April 21, 1965, in Berlin and she made appearances in several German films, TV films and series.
At the tender age of 6, Christina Plate had already started shooting commercials for children’s clothing which also featured her mother.
She played a role in the ZDF television series Kinder, Kinder when she was eleven years old. Christina Plate got trained as a gymnastics teacher in 1985.
Her role in the television series Praxis Bülowbogen in 1987 set the tone for a successful acting career for Christina Plate and in 1988, she was awarded the junior Bambi.
She had to undergo therapy for anorexia after she had collapsed on set in 1989. Christina Plate was the actress in the female lead role for the ARD series Familie Dr. Paste in 2003 and later in 2004, she agreed to do a photo shoot with a cover photo in the July issue of the Playboy magazine.
It must be noted that on January 28, 2011, Christina Plate announced her retirement from the field of acting and that also marked the end of her association with the Dr. Paste series.
However, between 2015 and 2016, she appeared in the ZDF series SOKO Köln and played the role of chief inspector Nina Jacobs.
Christina Plate also took part in Who Knows Something Like That? She got married to cameraman Jörg Slotty in 1992 but they separated seven years afterwards.
Christina Plate started a new relationship with costume designer Klaus Bergmann and they had a daughter in 2000. After separating from Klaus Bergmann in August 2006, she met moderator Oliver Geissen in 2007.
Christina Plate and Klaus Bergmann got married in September 2009 and they welcomed their son in October 2008.
