Kennedy Agyapong, a probable New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, has promised to be strict if elected. He made it clear that he would not hesitate to fire an appointee if their shortcomings were discovered for the first time.
“I am not going to be a dictator. I won’t but I will be strict. One mistake, you’re fired. And I am not afraid to fire. I have said it several times that even if my wife makes a mistake I will fire her,” he assured.
Mr. Agyapong faces heavy opposition from veterans like Alan Kyeremanten, Mahamudu Bawumia, Boakye Agyarko, Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and others for the job of flagbearer.
In an interview with Marine News in the US, Mr. Agyapong assured Ghanaians that while he will not be a dictator in his dealings as President, no one will be spared if they make any mistakes.
He outlined his strategy for instilling patriotism in the public, which included educating children to love their country and having them sing patriotic songs in class.
