Frantisek Lederer was a Czech journalist and columnist. He was born on May 18, 1898, and he found a way to draw attention to issues about Czechoslovakia. This was based on the kind of relationship he had with the likes of Jan Masaryk as well as Petr Zenkle.

With respect to education, Frantisek Lederer was known to have attended and graduated from the Charles University. He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy and then after, he joined the cultural section of the daily Prager Tagblatt. It must be noted that after 1933, Frantisek Lederer tried to help German anti-fascists. He did this by publishing articles that spoke against fascism, violence as well as war.

Quite unfortunately, he got arrested by the Nazis in March 1939 but he was released a few months later. After he had been released, Frantisek Lederer relocated to England where he worked as an editor for Die Zeitung. Die Zeitung was a newspaper in German by the British Ministry of Information.

Frantisek Lederer worked for the US War Department and also worked at Radio Luxemburg, a military radio station. It must also be noted that Frantisek Lederer served or worked in the Office for the Prosecution of War Criminals at the headquarters of the US Army.

The main aim or task given to Frantisek Lederer was to analyze documents from confiscated Nazi archives to be prepared for the American prosecutor at the Nuremberg Trials.
