Claus Hipp was born on October 22, 1938, in Munich and he can be described as an entrepreneur and managing director of the food and baby food manufacturer Hipp. He was the Honorary Consul for the Georgian Embassy in Germany.
Claus Hipp is the second out of seven children of his parents. He had his education at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich when he studied Law.
He graduated from the Ludwigsgymnasium Munich before enrolling at the Ludwig Maximilians University. While still in school, Claus Hipp managed the family farm until 196o. He had his doctorate in Law and then afterward, he joined his father in his company in 1964.
Three years later, he became the one managing the company. Claus Hipp was the President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Munich and Upper Bavaria from 1998 to 2004.
He was also the President of the Bavarian Association of Chambers of Industry and Commerce and since 2001, Claus Hipp has been Vice President of the German Association of Chambers of Industry and Commerce.
Over the years, he has also been associated with Münchner Tafel e. v., Fondazione Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice (CAPP), German Business Association of Georgia, State University in Tbilisi, Georgia, as well as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Munich and Upper Bavaria.

Claus Hipp Awards
Some of the awards won by Claus Hipp include 1990: Bavarian Order of Merit, 1995: Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for services to the environment, 1999: Grand Cross of Merit of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, 2000: Great Golden Medal of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria ,2000: Franz Kafka Art Prize for Painting, Prague, 2001: Euronatur Environmental Prize, 2004: Appointed honorary senator of the then private university IMADEC University,2005: German Founder’s Prize in the Lifetime Achievement category, for outstanding achievements as an entrepreneur and 2008: Honorary Citizenship of Tbilisi, Georgia.
Others are 2009: Environmental Prize Golden Flower from Rheydt, the 2010: Steiger Award for Services to the Environment, 2010: Bavarian Constitutional Medal in Gold, the 2013: Admission to the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, the 2014: Honorary Prize of the Querdenker Awards in the Lifetime Achievement category,2016: Medal for special services to Bavaria in a United Europe, 2018: Entrepreneurship Award from the Business Club Aachen Maastricht and 2022: Lighting figure of the Economic Night of the Rhineland Business Prize of the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger for his life’s work as an entrepreneur.
