Who Is Ruth Moschner?
Ruth Isabel Moschner was born on April 11, 1976, in Munich, Germany. She is a renowned German television presenter, actress, and writer.
Moschner’s television career began at the age of ten when she appeared on the show Aktenzeichen XY… ungelöst (File Number XY… Unsolved). She also excelled in ballet, earning a Heinz Bosl Foundation scholarship. Unfortunately, due to health issues, she had to discontinue her ballet career and move her concentration to supporting roles at Munich’s National Theatre.
Moschner interned at the radio station Energy Munich after finishing high school and quitting her training as a bank clerk. Following that, she had an internship and traineeship at TV Munich, a regional television station, where she finally became a presenter, editor, and producer.
Moschner auditioned for the RTL programme Freitag Nacht News (Friday Night News) in 2000, which she co-hosted with her old colleague Henry Gründler from TV Munich from September 2000 until June 2005.
Her contract, however, was not suddenly extended. Despite this setback, she appeared in other RTL shows, including Alarm für Cobra 11 – Die Autobahnpolizei, Das Amt (The Office), and Hinter Gittern – Der Frauenknast (Behind Bars – The Women’s Prison).
Moschner has hosted, performed in, or featured in a variety of shows and events during her career. In 2003, she moderated Dating Day on ProSieben and co-hosted the inaugural season of Reklame! on Kabel 1.
From 2004 to 2005, she hosted the Big Brother decision show on RTL II. She made a parody of the show Die Super Nanny for the KiKA series Chilli TV in 2005.
Moschner also collaborated with Hans Werner Olm on sketches for his show Olm on the Road, which debuted on ProSieben in January 2006.
Moschner launched the Ruth tut gut association in 2006, in addition to her television profession. The organization’s goal is to bridge the gap between school and training by providing young people with information about their training and post-secondary education possibilities.
Moschner’s career flourished in the years that followed. She appeared in a number of films, television shows, and even music videos. From 2007 to 2007, she was a jury member on the RTL show Das Supertalent. From 2007 to 2009, she had her own clip show on Comedy Central Germany called Total Lustig – Die besten Clips mit Ruth Moschner.
Moschner hosted Das Schlagerrad on HR television from 2010 to 2013 and was a member of the advise team on Dings vom Dach. She also worked as a presenter on the MDR chat show Riverboat from 2010 to 2013.
Her diverse career includes winning the Sat.1 Winter Games of the Stars in 2011 and hosting the VOX show Grill den Henssler from 2014 to 2018.
In 2015, she got a Bambi award for her work on this programme. Moschner has also hosted several other shows, including Vox’s Eternal Heroes, Sat.1’s This Is How People Tick, and ProSieben’s Who’s Seeing That?!.
Moschner has written several novels in addition to her broadcast work. Sweet Fairy Tales – or How I Snack Myself Happy, her debut book, was published in October 2006.
In April 2008, she published Vollblondige Businen, followed by Big Boobs in March 2009. Moschner published her fourth book, The Chocolate Diet, in February 2011, and her fifth book, Baking for Show-Offs, in October 2012.
Moschner has been in a relationship with her boyfriend, Peter, since 2006. They are residents of Berlin-Charlottenburg.
Ruth Moschner has been recognised for her services to the entertainment business throughout her career. In 2004, she received the Offended Viewers Award, and in 2015, she received the Bambi Award.
