Otto Fahr can be described as a German swimmer and entrepreneur who was born on August 19, 1892. He however died on February 28, 1969. He represented SV Cannstatt and it must be noted that in 1911, he made an appearance at the German Swimming Championships.

While at the German Swimming Championships, Otto Fahr won the 1500-meter freestyle as well as the 100-meter backstroke.
He also set two world records in Magdeburg in April 1912.

He recorded a time of 1:15.6 minutes in the 100-meter backstroke and also recorded a time of 2:48.4 in the 200-meter race. No one could break the 100-meter world record until 1920 and the 200-meter world record was only broken in 1926.

Otto Fahr also represented at the 1912 Olympics Games in Stockholm. He only competed in the 100-meter backstroke and lost to the American Harry Hebner. Otto Fahr also managed to secure the silver medal.

With respect to education, Otto Fahr attended the Technical University of Stuttgart where he studied Mechanical Engineering. While at the Technical University of Stuttgart, he was also a member of the Stuttgart fraternity Ghibellinia in 1911.

He served as a lieutenant during the First World War and completed his studies in 1919. Otto Fahr also had his doctorate degree and later in 1921, he moved to Werner & Pfleiderer to work.
He received Power of Attorney in 1926 and in 1931 he became a member of the management. On June 23, 1937, Otto Fahr applied to become a member of the NSDAP. He got admitted into NSDAP retroactively. He has several honors to his credit.
