Okyeame Kwame is a Ghanaian musician, songwriter and entrepreneur and a creative director.

His full name is Kwame Nsiah-Apau and he is nicknamed “Rap Doctor” He was born on 17^th April, 1976; making him 44 years old.

Okyeame Kwame was born in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

He had his senior secondary education at Anglican Senior High School in Kumasi and went to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to study music and specialized in classical guitar.

After KNUST, he went to the University of Ghana Business School and studied Marketing Strategy for his master’s degree.

His other two brothers Kwaku Nsiah Boamah (Flowking Stone) and Kwaku Nsiah Amankwah (Kunta Kinte) are also into music. They both perform hiplife duet “Bradez”.

Music Career

Okyeame Kwame achieved fame as a member of the “Akyeame” hiplife duet in 1997.

He was in this together with Daniel Kofi Amoateng popularly known as Okyeame Kofi. They recorded couple of albums together.

Some of these albums are; “Nyansapo” (Witty Knot) in 1997, “Nkonsonkonson” (Shackles) in 1998, “Ntoaso” (Continuity) in 2000 and “Apam Foforo” (New Testament) in 2002.

When they parted since 2004, Okyeame Kwame performed solo under his own record label “One Mic Entertainment” and he also featured some notable Ghanaian highlife and hiplife artists such as Kojo Antwi, Ofori Amponsah and Daddy Lumba.

In 2012, Kwame launched “The Versatile Show” which is performed biannually at the National Theatre. He is the producer.

At The Versatile show, he mix his music with drama and poetry.

He runs his own record label “One Mic Entertainment” and also runs Firm Bridges Communications which he co-founded with his wife.

He is a partner in Horseman Shoes (a shoe manufacturing company). He is the brand ambassador for MTN Group, GT Bank and Coca-Cola in Ghana.

Aside these, he is also the public relations officer of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) from 2012 and the Ghana Music Right Owner (GHAMRO) in 2014.
