Allwein’s political career began in 1923 with his participation in the Hitler Putsch. Following its defeat, he became active in the formation of the Völkisch Bloc in Bavaria, which sided with Hitler but did not completely embrace his worldview at the time. Rather, they sought to subvert the legislative system from within.

During the Nazi era, Allwein elected not to join the Nazi Legal Guardian Association, and as a result, he was refused bar admission.

As a result, he worked for several insurance businesses, as well as the Bavarian Mortgage and Exchange Bank. In 1937, he was appointed a legal expert at the Munich Military District Administration.

Throughout World War II, Allwein worked as a reserve staff director in France, Estonia, the Soviet Union, and Denmark. He returned to Germany, resided in Bad Tölz, and became a notary.

He was also instrumental in the formation of the Christian Social Union (CSU) in the region, acting as its district chairman in Bad Tölz.

Allwein was elected to the Constituent Assembly in 1946 and later served as the CSU’s representative in the Bavarian State Parliament.

However, in 1949, he shifted allegiance to the Free Fractional Community, a political party founded by the Free Parliamentary Association and the German Party for Freedom and Law.

In the 1957 federal election, Allwein ran as a Federalist Union candidate in constituency 202 (Munich-South) and also featured on the Bavarian state list for the German Bundestag, finishing fifteenth. The Bavarian Party presented the Bavarian State List for the Federalist Union.
