Emphasis needs to be placed on the fact that Helmut Fischer participated in the 1934 European Aquatics Championships. During the 1934 European Aquatics Championships, he competed in the 100-meter freestyle.
Helmut Fischer secured the silver medal in the finals. Two years after the 1934 European Aquatics Championships, he again represented Germany at the Summer Olympics. Helmut Fischer was known to have competed in both the 100-meter freestyle as well as the 4×200-meter freestyle relay.
He did not do so well with respect to the 100-meter freestyle as well as the 4×200-meter freestyle relay.
He is said to have placed fifth in both events. Prior to representing Germany at various competitions, Helmut Fischer was a member of the club called Bremischer Schwimmverband.
