His contribution to UEFA Euro 1988 saw Italy reach the semi-finals, and he earned a spot in the team of the tournament. Throughout his illustrious twenty-year career, Vialli notched up 259 goals at the club level, 16 goals with the national team, and 11 goals with the Italy national under-21 football team.
