Enea Bastianin is an Italian Grand Prix motorcycle racer, riding for the Ducati Lenovo Team in the MotoGP class. He was born on December 30, 1997, and he has the nickname “La Bestia” (The Beast).
He was the proud winner of the 2020 Moto2 World Championship. Enea Bastianin was born in Rimini and he first rode a mini bike when he was just 3 years and 3 months old.
With a successful career in minibike racing it must be noted that he has raced in the Honda HIRP Trophy 100cc, the MiniGP 70cc Italian Championship, the Honda RS125 Trophy as well as other categories.
Enea Bastianin competed in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in 2013 and he finished overall fourth place in the championship. He raced in the Moto3 World Championship riding for Team GO&FUN Moto3 for the first time in 2014.
He finished 13th at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas and also took ten placings at the Argentine, Spanish and French Grands Prix. Enea Bastianin placed second in the Czech Republic and also placed third in Great Britain.
Enea Bastianin signed a deal with Esponsorama Racing for the 2021 MotoGP season. He partnered Moto2 rival and fellow compatriot Luca Marini and they rode two-year-old specification Ducati GP19 bikes for the whole season.
It must be noted that Enea Bastianin was the proud winner of the 2022 MotoGP season, the 2022 Qatar Grand Prix and he became the championship leader. Enea Bastianin and Gresini Racing made history as he won with a 2021-specification Ducati Desmosedici GP21.
For the 2023 MotoGP World Championship, Enea Bastianin moved to the Ducati Lenovo Team and partnered Francesco Bagnaia after replacing Jack Miller. He however missed the opening three rounds of the season through injury.
