Silvia Popovici is a Romanian actress who was born on September 16, 1993. So far as acting is concerned, she made her debut in 1954 when she made an appearance in the film titled  “La mere”, made by students.

The film, Darclee (1960), directed by Mihai Iacob shot her into fame. Through the success story of  Darclee (1960), Silvia Popovici was also featured in The Man Next to You (1961) and O Dragoste Lungu de o Seàra (1963), both directed by Horea Popescu.

She played the titular role in the film Gioconda fără surîs (1968) directed by  Malvina Urșianu. Apart from Gioconda fără surîs (1968), she also played roles in the films Serata (1971), Trecătoare iubiri (1974) and Îtoarcerea lui Vodă Lăpușneanu (1980).

Silvia Popovici was well-known for her role as  Oana in the TV series Mușatinii. Mușatinii was directed  Sorana Coroamă-Stanca and it run into 13 episodes .

She was also into theatre and was part of the “Golden Promotion” of the Romanian theater (1956) and she performed at national theaters in  Craiova (1959–1963 ), Cluj (1963–1966) and Bucharest (1967–1993).

Silvia Popovici got married to the communist dignitary Maxim Berghianu. She received the Order of Cultural Merit 3rd class (1967) “for special merits in the field of dramatic art” and for  “for special merits in the work of building socialism, on the occasion of the anniversary 50 years after the establishment of the Romanian Communist Party”, she was awarded the Order of Cultural Merit 2nd class (1971).
