Adolph Robert Thornton Jr., known by his stage name Young Dolph, was an American rapper.

He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 27, 1985, and then relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, where he was mostly raised by his grandmother.

In 2008, Young Dolph released his debut mixtape, “Paper Route Campaign,” and in 2010, he founded his record label, Paper Route Empire.

Following the success of his mixtapes and group projects, he released his first studio album, “King of Memphis,” in 2016.

The album peaked at number 49 on the Billboard 200 list. Young Dolph’s fifth album, “Rich Slave,” which was released in 2020, became his highest-charting work after making its Billboard 200 debut at position number four.

Young Dolph has worked with a number of well-known artists over his career, including O.T. Genasis on the popular song “Cut It,” which reached at number 35 on the Billboard Hot 100. He and fellow Memphis rapper Yo Gotti got into a fight, and both artists put out diss songs as a result.
