Wolfgang Dold is the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Mexico. He has been the ambassador since September 2022. Wolfgang Dold is the head or leader of the embassy in Mexico City. He was born on April 20, 1958, and prior to becoming the ambassador to Mexico, he was the ambassador to Spain.
With reference to education, Wolfgang Dold attended the University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer. In 1986, he completed his legal training with the second state examination. Later in 1988, Wolfgang Dold joined the foreign service.
It must be noted that between 1990 and 1994, Wolfgang Dold served as the Permanent Representative of the ambassador to Nepal. With the passage of time, he worked at the headquarters of the Foreign Office in Bonn.
He worked in the Department for Senior Civil Service. He served at the Embassy in Israel from 1997 to 2000 as a political officer.
He also worked as the deputy head of the Human resources department.
Between 2003 and 2006, Wolfgang Dold was the permanent representative at the embassy in South Africa.
For six more years, Wolfgang Dold worked in different positions and in different countries.
In March 2012, Wolfgang Dold was appointed ambassador to Greece. This was during the time when the Greek-German relations were not the best. He managed the central department of the foreign office in Berlin between 2014 and 2018. He was then the ministerial director. He became the chairman of the advisory board of the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin.
