Rosso began his commercial career in the 1970s when he dropped out of the University of Venice to work as a production manager at Moltex, a local apparel company.
Adriano Goldschmied, who became his mentor and business partner, met him there. In 1977, Rosso wanted to start his own firm and persuaded Goldschmied to form a new company with him, which led to the formation of Diesel.
