Simone Ballack’s Biography
Simone Mecky-Ballack, born on February 16, 1976, in Kaiserslautern, Germany, is a well-known German television show participant and the former wife of football player Michael Ballack.
She grew up in Kaiserslautern after her parents divorced, and she had a modest background. She spent the majority of her childhood with her mother, and when her mother remarried, she received a half-brother.
Simone trained as a pharmaceutical-commercial clerk after finishing her studies and also worked in the catering industry. She had a fatal brush with Michael Ballack, who was playing for 1. FC Kaiserslautern at the time, in 1998 at Café am Markt in Kaiserslautern.
They quickly became a couple and welcomed their first kid into the world in 2001. Two additional sons were born in 2002 and 2005.
The family relocated to Starnberg and subsequently to London during Michael’s football career, when he played for Chelsea FC. During this period, Simone attempted to keep their children out of the public glare. Simone and Michael were together for ten years before getting married in 2008. Unfortunately, their marriage did not last, and they divorced four years later. Simone and her sons returned to Starnberg.
Simone began coming into the spotlight and making televised appearances in the years that followed. She competed in the sixth season of the popular RTL show Let’s Dancing in 2013, finishing fourth with her dancing partner Erich Klann.
The same year, she ventured into the restaurant sector by launching her own restaurant, Chickeria, in Kaiserslautern. The restaurant, however, closed its doors in 2017.
Simone reconnected with her childhood buddy, IT specialist Andreas Mecky, after her divorce from Michael. Simone changed her name to Simone Mecky-Ballack after the couple married in 2019. Unfortunately, their love ended in 2023, and Simone has since married hotelier Heiko Grote.
Simone’s television career flourished in the years that followed. She appeared on Sat.1 in the eighth season of Celebrity Big Brother in 2020. She also appeared on Vox’s Celebrity Shopping Queen, as well as Sat.1 breakfast television and File.
Simone’s charitable effort is equally noteworthy. In 2021, she founded the “RTL – We Help Children” foundation with Joachim Llambi.
