Pasquale Aleardi is a Swiss film actor and musician who was born on June 1, 1971, in Dietikon, Canton of Zurich.
He grew up speaking three languages, German, Italian, and Greek, as the son of Greek-Italian immigrants.
Aleardi recalls his childhood as “very loud” because there was usually a television on in numerous rooms of his parents’ house. In 1992, he graduated from high school and enrolled at Zurich Theatre University. During his training, Aleardi was cast in his first leading part in Tschäss, a Swiss film.
Aleardi left theatre school in 1995 and relocated to Germany, where he took roles in theatres in Bonn, Düsseldorf, and Cologne. He later moved into film, appearing in several German films and television shows.
He co-starred in the television film Forever Lost with Veronica Ferres and made his German film debut in Night in the Park with Heike Makatsch and Heino Ferch.
Aleardi also starred in Brecht’s Baal and the science fiction horror thriller Resident Evil, where he played JD Salinas. He rose to prominence in Switzerland for his performance as co-pilot Peter Landolt in the Swiss film Grounding – The Last Days of Swissair.
Aleardi made his Berlinale debut in 2006 with the film Schöner Leben, and he also participated in the Anke Engelke series Women’s Stories.
He also appeared in the German comedy film Where is Fred? and the television show Sweets. In 2015, he played lawyer Billy Flynn in the Stuttgart production of Chicago.
