Who Is Bonney Gabriel?
R’Bonney Nola Gabriel, born on March 20, 1994, is an American fashion designer, model, and beauty queen.
She became famous all around the world when she was named Miss Universe 2022, becoming the eighth representative from the United States to hold the illustrious title. She is notable for being the first Filipino-American to receive this distinction.
Gabriel was born in Houston, Texas, to Dana Walker, a White American, and Remigio Bonzon “R. Bon” Gabriel, a Filipino.
She was born and raised in Missouri City, but she and her three elder brothers eventually relocated to Friendswood. The father of Gabriel is a 25-year-old immigrant who is originally from Manila, the Philippines.
She graduated from the University of Houston with a psychology degree, after which he started an auto repair business. Her mother is from Beaumont, Texas, originally.
Gabriel spent parts of her early years in Manila, where she delighted in playing in the flooded streets, taking part in Filipino fiestas, and playing the card game “tong-its.”

She entered her first pageant, Miss Kemah USA 2020, where she placed among the Top 5. She then competed in Miss Texas USA 2021 on behalf of Harris County and finished as the first runner-up.
Her breakthrough, however, came when she was named Miss Texas USA 2022 and was given the chance to represent Texas at the Miss USA 2022 competition.
Gabriel made history by becoming the first Miss USA of Filipino origin.
