Career
The origins of Måneskin may be traced to the time in middle school when Victoria first met Thomas Raggi. When Damiano David joined the duet in high school, their musical career took off. The arrival of drummer Ethan Torchio, who answered a Facebook ad looking for a drummer, was the last missing element.Måneskin, which was formally founded in 2016, was selected as the name at a pivotal point when applying for Pulse, a regional music competition. With her Danish ancestry, Victoria proposed “Måneskin,” which translates as “Moonlight” in Danish.
The band’s early days involved busking on the streets of Rome, particularly in the Colli Portuensi district. Their breakthrough came in 2017 when they secured the second position in the eleventh season of the Italian talent show X Factor. Subsequently, their debut studio album, Il Ballo della Vita, released in 2018, catapulted them to stardom. The subsequent years witnessed extensive touring and the release of their second studio album, Teatro d’ira: Vol. I, in 2021.
January 20, 2023, marked the release of Måneskin’s third studio album, Rush!, through Epic Records, reinforcing their status as a musical powerhouse.
