Tom Kaulitz is a gifted guitarist and composer best known for his work with the legendary German band Tokio Hotel. Along with his musical abilities, Tom has become well-known for his personal life, especially after he married German-American model and TV personality Heidi Klum in a public ceremony.

Tom Kaulitz was born in Leipzig, Germany, on September 1, 1989. He started his career in music at an early age, as did his identical twin brother Bill Kaulitz. The separation of their parents when the twins were seven years old caused a major shift in the family relations; they were born to Simone Kaulitz and Jörg W. Their mother, Simone, later married Gordon Trümper, the guitarist from the German rock band Fatun.

Trümper was the one who helped Tom and Bill get started in music. Tom, who loved to play the guitar, and Bill, who showed an early interest in singing, were the driving forces behind the establishment of what would eventually become Tokio Hotel. The band was formed with the help of their pals Gustav Schäfer on drums and Georg Listing on bass guitar.

In 2001, the Kaulitz twins, Listing, and Schäfer formally established their band, Devilish. They subsequently changed its name to Tokio Hotel, nevertheless. The band’s quick ascent to stardom in the 2000s was characterized by several tours, performances, and a devoted following known as “Aliens.”

“Schrei” (2005), “Zimmer 483” (2007), “Scream” (2007), “Humanoid” (2009), “Kings of Suburbia” (2014), “Dream Machine” (2017), and “2001” (2022) are just a few of the popular albums that Tokio Hotel has made. They became a worldwide phenomenon due to their popularity which cut over national boundaries.

In addition to being a songwriter and guitarist, Tom Kaulitz is a multi-talented musician. Since 2007, he has started playing a Gibson guitar, which has greatly contributed to Tokio Hotel’s unique sound. Apart from his guitar playing, Tom also performs on piano, keyboards, back-vocalising, and supplying percussion.
