Tim Bendzko can be described as a German singer-songwriter. Tim Bendzko was born on April 9, 1985, and he became very popular throughout the country when he released the song “Nur noch kurz die Welt retten” and became the winner of the Bundesvision Song Contest.

He is currently 38 years old and stands at 1.84 meters. Tim Bendzko is known to have grown up in the Köpenick region of Berlin. When he was a teenager, he attended a sport gymnasium. He also played with the FC Union Berlin club football up to the “B” age level, around 16. Interestingly, the music career of Tim Bendzko started when he started having guitar lessons. He was then between 11 and 12 years old.

It must be noted that when Tim Bendzko turned 16, he wrote his own songs. Tim Bendzko studied Protestant Theology and non-Christian religions at the Free University of Berlin but he cut short his studies after 5 semesters. As a result of this, he did not earn any degree.

Subsequently, Tim Bendzko worked as an auctioneer in the car trade. He took part in the 2009 edition of the talent competition Söhne puta gesucht of Söhne Mannheims. He won the competition and as a result of that, he had the opportunity to perform in the summer of 2009 before 20,000 spectators at the Berlin Waldbühne, one of Europe’s largest concert venues.

He also signed a recording contract with  Sony Music and performed as an opening act for Silly on their 2010 tour. Tim Bendzko released his first album Wenn Worte meine Sprache wären (“If words were my language”), on June 17, 2011, and subsequently released the single  Nur noch kurz die Welt retten (“Just quickly save the world”) on May 27, 2011.

The album made it to number four in the German charts and the single became number two. The single was written by Tim Bendzko, Mo Brandis and Simon Triebel, and got certified 3× Gold in Germany for sales of more than 450,000 copies. The single was also awarded Platinum status in Switzerland and Gold in Austria.
