Who Is Samra?

Samra, whose real name is Hussein Akkouche, was born on January 15, 1995. He is a Lebanese-German rapper based in Berlin.

Samra gained popularity in the German rap scene in 2016 when he appeared as a guest performer on Alpa Gun’s album “Zurück zur Straße,” particularly on the track “Chaos.”

On this song, he slammed the rap group 187 Strassenbande.

Samra later that year partnered with rapper Mert on the song “U21.” His talent piqued the interest of renowned rapper Farid Bang, who expressed interest in signing him to his Banger Musik label. Samra, on the other hand, declined the offer. Instead, in 2017, he signed with Bushido’s label, EGJ.

Samra returned in April 2018 after a year’s absence with the single “Rohdiamant.” The song soon gained traction, amassing 6.6 million streams in its first week, and debuted at number 26 in Germany.

Samra hit number one in July of that year as a featured artist on Bushido’s track “Für euch alle.”

Samra and his team were arrested in Prague in October 2018 while filming a music video. A report of armed individuals in a hotel had been received by the police.

Despite the fact that the weapons were deactivated, police recovered pistols, a machete, a hand grenade, and an anti-tank rocket launcher. They were later returned after it was determined that the guns had been rendered inoperable.

Samra had his first solo number-one success in Germany in November 2018 with the song “Cataleya,” which was produced by Bushido. At the age of 23, this victory was a watershed moment in his career.

In January 2019, he won the Hiphop.de Award for Best National Newcomer.

Samra departed Bushido’s label in January 2019 as a result of his success. In March of that year, he worked with famous rapper Capital Bra on the single “Wir ticken,” which went to number one in Germany.

“Travolta,” Samra’s EP, was published in April 2019 as part of Capital Bra’s CB6 premium box set.

In May 2019, Samra and Capital Bra had their second number-one single in Germany with “Wieder Lila.” Samra got her stage name from the Lebanese term “ابو سمرة,” which means “the person with brunette features.”
