Pope John XXIII was born on November 25, 1881, as Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli. From October 28, 1958, Pope John XXIII was the head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City State till he died in June 1963.
His parents were Giovanni Battista Roncalli (1854–1935) and his wife Marianna Giulia Mazzola (1855–1939) and he was one of the 13 children of his parents.
Pope John XXIII was born into a family of sharecroppers who lived in Sotto il Monte, a village in the province of Bergamo, Lombardy. Pope John XXIII got ordained to the office of priesthood on August 10, 1904, and served in many capacities.
Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli was made a cardinal as the Cardinal-Priest of Santa Prisca by Pope Pius XII on January 12, 1953, as well as the Patriarch of Venice. At age 76, Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli was elected pope after eleven ballots. He prevented bishops from meddling in local elections and also supported the Christian Democracy party to cooperate with the Italian Socialist Party.
Pope John XXIII was diagnosed with stomach cancer in September 1962. He died after eight months on June 3, 1963. The successor of Pope John XXIII, Pope Paul VI opened for cause for canonization of Pope John XXIII on November 18, 1965.
He also declared him a Servant of God. Pope John XXIII was declared a saint due to his virtuous, model lifestyle, and because of the good which had come from his opening of the Second Vatican Council.

Pope John XXIII was one of the thirteen children of his parents; Giovanni Battista Roncalli (1854–1935) and his wife Marianna Giulia Mazzola (1855–1939). The siblings of Pope John XXIII were Maria Caterina (1877–1883), Teresa (1879–1954), who married Michele Ghisleni in 1899, Ancilla (1880–1953), Francesco Saverio (1883–1976), who married Maria Carrara in 1907, Maria Elisa (1884–1955), Assunta Casilda (1886–1980),[14] who married Giovanni Battista Marchesi in 1907 and Domenico Giuseppe (1888–1888).
The others are Alfredo (1889–1972), Giovanni Francesco (1891–1956), who married Caterina Formenti in 1919, Enrica (1893–1918), Giuseppe Luigi (1894–1981), who married Ida Biffi in 1922 and Luigi (1896–1898).
