Nikola Jokic is a Serbian professional basketball player who is a center for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Nikola Jokic was on February 19, 1995, in the city of Sombor in Serbia.

He stands at 6 feet 11 inches and weighs 129 kg. Nikola Jokic is a five-time NBA All-Star player and for the 2020–2021 and 2021–2022 seasons, he won the NBA Most Valuable Player.

In 2016 , Nikola Jokic was voted to the NBA All-Rookie First Team and in the 2018-2019 season, he also received his first All-Star and All-NBA First Team selections.

It must be noted that Nikola Jokic is one of the top 10 players of NBA with the most triple-doubles. Nikola Jokic plays for the Serbian National Basketball team and in the 2016 Summer Olympics, he got a silver medal.

Nikola Jokic played at the 2013 FIBA Under-19 World Championship and was part of the Serbian U-19 national basketball team that won the silver medal.

Three years later, he represented his country at the 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Belgrade. He won the award for Most Valuable Player.

During the  2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup, Nikola Jokic was part of the Serbian national team that lost to Argentina in the quarter-finals. Before the team’s loss, they were tipped to win the tournament after they had won against United States and Czech Republic.

After three years of absence from the Serbian National Team, Nikola Jokic announced his comeback on June 15, 2022. He took part in the 2023 FIBA World Cup qualifiers and the EuroBasket 2022.

At EuroBasket 2022, Nikola Jokic helped Serbia to win the first place of Group D but unfortunately the team lost to Italy in the one-sixteenth stage.

Nikola Jokic Family

As a child,Nikola Jokic grew up in cramped two-bedroom house. That house accomodated his two brothers, grandmother as well as his parents.

Nikola Jokic’s father was an agricultural engineer who had two sons apart from Nikola Jokic. The oldest son is Strahinja and played basketball in Europe.

The second son was Nemanja. He was also a basketball player and played for University of Detroit Mercy. Nikola Jokic’s love for basketball was brought forth when he started playing basketball with his elder brothers.

Nikola Jokic got married to his girlfriend, Natalija Mačešić on October 24, 2020, in his hometown of Sombor. Nikola Jokic and Natalija Mačešić have a daughter. She was born in September 2021.
