Luciano was raised in Dayton, Manchester Parish, as the seventh child in a strict Adventist family. Luciano debuted in the music industry in 1992, with his first single, “Ebony & Ivory” as ‘Stepper John.’
He then released a split album with DJ Presley as ‘Luciana’ and earned popularity with his smash tune “Give My Love a Try.”

Luciano attained global success in 1995 with the publication of his album Where There Is Life, which featured hit songs like as “It’s Me Again Jah” and the title tune. He continued to cooperate with Burrell, releasing the album One Way Ticket. However, they split up in 1999.
Throughout the 2000s, Luciano released several albums, including A New Day, which received a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album in 2002.
He collaborated closely with producer Dean Fraser, who produced several of his recordings and played saxophone with his band.
Luciano is a passionate Rastafarian whose lyrics express his dedication to consciousness and spirituality. He pushes for the promotion of cannabis and its benefits.
In 2007, he got the Order of Distinction with the rank of Officer for his contributions to reggae music.
