Biography
Katharina Kleinfeldt is a German sports journalist and television host who was born in Schotten, Hesse, on May 5, 1993.
Raised in Hesse, Kleinfeldt completed his education at Nidda High School in 2012. She lived with an American host family while studying abroad in the United States for a year in the eleventh grade at Lee County High School in Sanford, North Carolina.
She played soccer competitively from 2004 to 2012 before choosing to become a sports journalist. She studied Applied Media Studies with a concentration on Sports Journalism and Sports Management at the DMA Media Academy in Berlin.
In 2015, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She wrote match reports, conducted interviews, and took part in several self-tests in a variety of sports when she was a student and a writer for the online sports magazine Hauptstadtsport.tv.
Kleinfeldt began a traineeship at Sky Deutschland in September 2015, where he contributed to 2. Bundesliga coverage and worked as an EHF Champions League reporter. She covered Wimbledon in London as well. She was the host of Manuel Neuer’s “Little Football School,” a show that included Neuer and Melanie Leupolz, a national football player, in 2016.
She presented the Wimbledon magazine show Quiet Please for Sky in 2019. She alternated with Britta Hofmann as co-host of the UEFA Champions League group stage nightly magazine show Alle Spiele Alle Tore later that year.
She made her debut as the host of Champions Corner in the 2020–21 season when she and football analysts Jan Åge Fjørtoft, André Breitenreiter, Patrick Owomoyela, and Roman Weidenfeller examined Champions League games.
Kleinfeldt revealed on July 12, 2023, that she was leaving Sky to work for Sport1. On July 29, 2023, she made her debut as a presenter for the 2. Bundesliga championship game. Alongside Florian König, she co-presented Fantalk and Doppelpass.
She also served as the live host of the 2024 PDC Darts World Championship from Alexandra Palace in London.
She made a comeback to Wimbledon in 2024, this time collaborating with Alexander Schlüter as one of Amazon Prime’s two primary broadcasters.
