Julia-Niharika Sen can be described as a German journalist and television presenter. She was born on April 28, 1967, in Kiel. Her father is Tapan-Kumar Sen, from India and he is believed to have moved to Germany in 1965.
Julia-Niharika Sen took to the studying of the English and Romance languages.
After that, she worked as a television journalist and filmmaker at NDR television. While at NDR television, she worked for various editorial offices.
She became the moderator of the Hamburg culture and reportage magazine Rund um den Michel on NDR television in 2006.
Her work was quite diverse; she worked as a live reporter for the business, politics, social affairs and culture departments of the Hamburg Journal and for the NDR reporter documentary series Naturnah.
Together with Rolf Seelmann-Eggebert, Julia-Niharika Sen has presented the annual live broadcast of Trooping the Color on ARD from London since 2009.
She also presents the weekly reports from the ARD foreign correspondents on current world events in the NDR foreign magazine Weltbilder.
Julia-Niharika Sen has been moderating the Hamburg Journal since January 18, 2010. Hamburg Journal is a daily main news program for Hamburg, on NDR television which gives information about public events, political events and cultural and social life in the Hamburg metropolis.
She is a member of a team of presenters of the Tagesschau news since April 14, 2018, and this came about after she had stepped in as a substitute for tagesschau24 in January 2018.
She leads the annual presentation of the ” Bertini Prize “. The ” Bertini Prize ” is awarded for civil courage and against forgetting the crimes of the National Socialists and she has been leading the presentation since 2009.
She has also since 2011, presented the Hamburg Press Ball at the Hotel Atlantic with respect to the Erich Klabunde Prize. The Erich Klabunde Prize is awarded to outstanding journalists every year.
