Ida Di Benedetto is an Italian actress and film producer born on June 3, 1945. She was initially involved in her theatrical career but she made her debut so far as film is concerned, when she was featured in Werner Schroeter’s film Nel Regno di Napoli in 1978.

She was also featured in Immacolata e Concetta – L’altra gelosia in 1980 and she won the Nastro d’Argento as Best Leading Actress.Ida Di Benedetto also played a role in  Fontamara directed by Carlo Lizzani in 1980.

In 2012 she was awarded the Golden Alabarda award for cinema. Ida Di Benedetto is the mother of the actress and producer Marta Bifano. Since 1995, She has been married to Giuliano Urbani, Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities from 2001 to 2005.

Ida Di Benedetto founded the film production company Titania Produzioni with her daughter Stefania Bifano. There were harsh criticism from Vittorio Sgarbi and Gabriella Carlucci after Titania Produzioni had received public funding of 7 million euros for the production of four films in the years in which Giuliano Urbani, Di Benedetto’s partner, was minister of culture.
