Corinna Miazga’s Biography

Corinna Miazga was a prominent German politician who made significant contributions to the political landscape of Germany during her lifetime.

She was born in Oldenburg on May 17, 1983, and grew up in Hude, Lower Saxony.

Miazga studied law but did not complete her degree. This, however, did not discourage her from pursuing a political career. In 2017, she was elected to the German Bundestag to represent the state of Bavaria. This was a big achievement for Miazga, and it marked the start of her political career.

Miazga was a member of the Committee on European Union Affairs during her time in the Bundestag. This gave her direct influence over EU policies and decisions, and she utilised her position to advance her party’s goals.

Miazga, a member of the Alternative for Germany (AfD), has persistently battled for her party’s ideals and values.

She was embroiled in a minor squabble within the Bavarian AfD state party in 2019. Influential political figure Tom Rohrböck reportedly persuaded Miazga to compete for state chairmanship. This was faced with criticism from another contender, who subsequently dropped out of the campaign.

Miazga, on the other hand, denied receiving the state presidency as a result of Rohrböck’s influence, dismissing any suspicions of collusion.

Unfortunately, Miazga disclosed in November 2020 that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. She stood down as chairwoman of the AfD Bavaria because of health concerns. Despite this loss, Miazga remained politically active and made major contributions to her party.

Miazga ran in the German federal election in 2021 and was re-elected to the Bundestag on the state ticket. She finished second in Straubing, demonstrating her popularity among constituents. However, in October 2021, she was defeated in her re-election bid for the office of Bavarian Party chairwoman by Stephan Protschka.

Corinna Miazga died on February 25, 2023, at the age of 39, after her battle with breast cancer. Her premature passing was lamented by colleagues, constituents, and admirers all around the country. Rainer Rothfuß, who had climbed up the party list, assumed her position in the Bundestag as a result of her death.
