Hanns Braun is said to have lived between October 26, 1886, and October 9, 1918. Hanns Braun was known to be a German athlete and was born in Wernfels. He was quite a known and successful athlete but he however died near Saint-Quentin, Aisne, France in an airplane-crash in World War I.
It must be noted that as an athlete, Hanns Braun was the proud winner of the bronze medal with respect to the men’s 800-metre race. He won the bronze medal at the 1908 Summer Olympics in London. In winning the bronze medal, he made a time of 1:55.2 minutes .It must be noted that the time was .8 seconds faster than the previous Olympic record.
His time was also said to be 3 seconds slower than the time of Mel Sheppard, the winner of the race. He also won the silver medal with the German medley relay team. Hanns Braun ran the final 800 meters of the 1600-metre race, following Arthur Hoffmann, Hans Eicke, and Otto Trieloff.
Hanns Braun also competed in the 1500 metres. He could not make it for the finals even though he had placed third in his first-round (semifinal) heat. He made a time of f 4:18.2 but was not good enough.
