In 2005, Lawrence made his feature-length directorial debut with “Constantine,” a superhero thriller based on the Hellblazer comic book, starring Keanu Reeves. This marked the beginning of his journey into the realm of feature films, and it laid the foundation for a successful career ahead.

In 2007, Lawrence directed “I Am Legend,” a post-apocalyptic horror film starring Will Smith. The film’s success solidified Lawrence’s position as a director capable of handling blockbuster productions with both visual flair and emotional depth.

Lawrence’s participation in the “The Hunger Games” film series was one of his most noteworthy accomplishments. Beginning with “Catching Fire” in 2013 and ending with “Mockingjay โ€“ Part 2” in 2015, he helmed four of the five movies.

In 2018, Lawrence directed “Red Sparrow,” a spy thriller based on the novel by Jason Matthews, featuring Jennifer Lawrence and Joel Edgerton.

In 2022, Lawrence signed with Netflix to direct an adaptation of “BioShock,” inspired by the popular video game franchise. Furthermore, he is slated to return to direct a sequel to his debut film, “Constantine.”

He is set to release “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” adapting Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games prequel. Additionally, Lawrence is working on the film adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk’s “Survivor” and a feature adaptation of Kevin J. Anderson and Steven L. Searsโ€™ “Stalag-X.”
