Erika Helmke can be described as a German actress. She was born on April 15, 1908, in Kiel but died on November 26, 2002, in Ottawa, Canada. It must be noted that Erika Helmke was made to feature in a film for the first time by her cousin Gefion Helmke.
The film was Erich Engel’s drama Five from the Jazz Band in 1932. Subsequently, she was featured in two more films; Night with the Emperor (1936) and Dangerous Game (1937). Within the years Erika Helmke was active in the acting field, she worked with a lot of well-known filmmakers so far as short films were concerned.
She worked with Jacques Feyder with respect to The Smart Women and also worked with Géza von Bolváry in I don’t want to know who you are. She also worked with Heinz Hilpert in I want to teach you love and with Paul Verhoeven in the drama Salonwagen E 417.
It must be noted that Clara Schumann’s biography Traumerei in 1944 was the last major film she featured in. She made the list of the God-Given list of the Reich Ministry for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda.
In 1948, she was featured in the short film titled Stadtmeier und Landmeier. She also worked as a voice actress.
