Eduardo De Filippo was an Italian actor, playwright, director and comedian. He was considered one of the greatest theater men of the 20th century and he was born on May 24, 1900. He was born to actor and comedian Eduardo Scarpetta and Luisa De Filippo.
He grew up in the Neapolitan theater environment with his family. Eduardo De Filippo was said to have started his career as an actor and as a director in 1932. Eduardo De Filippo wrote the play titled Filumena Marturano in 1946 and it is believed that it is this play that gave Eduardo De Filippo so much fame.
Later in 1981, Eduardo De Filippo was named senator for life, joining the Sinistra Indipendente group.

Eduardo De Filippo was said to have had two siblings. His two siblings were Titina De Filippo and Peppino De Filippo and he worked with them in theater and in other variety shows.

(1929), Quei figuri di so many years ago (1929), Ogni anno point e da capo (1931), The arrival of trentuno (1931), Natale in Casa Cupiello (1931), Gennareniello (1932), The voice of the padrone/Il successo del giorno (1932), Fifth piano, greetings! (1934), One with white capelli (1935) and L’abito new (1936).

He was also involved with a lot of productions so far as cinema is concerned as a director and actor. Eduardo De Filippo was also involved in television productions.
