Cristina Spatar Biography
Cristina Maria Spătar, also known as “the queen of R&B music” in Romania, was born on June 17, 1972, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej, Bacău, Romania.
She was raised in a musical family and started off performing with her sister on the folk stage. She was discovered to have talent at a young age, and in 1991, she made her official festival debut at the famed Mamaia festival.
Cristina experienced a challenging time when her mother was diagnosed with cancer, despite her career’s early success.
Despite this setback, she persisted in going after her aspirations, and when she was 26 she relocated to Bucharest where she met Roby G., a well-known composer at the time who urged her to investigate R&B music.
