He participated in the well-known game show “Wer wird Millionär?” (Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?) in October 2010. He talked jokingly about growing up as a teacher’s kid throughout the program, and he said he wanted to write a book about it. The audience found resonance in this humorous and realistic observation. He unexpectedly earned 32,000 euros during the performance, and his humorous skills were on display for the audience.
Following the show’s broadcast, the Piper Verlag publishing house approached Bielendorfer, expressing interest in publishing his manuscript. The catch was that he had not written a single page of it at that point. However, after requesting some additional time, Bielendorfer managed to complete the manuscript in just two weeks. The result was “Lehrerkind – Lebenslänglich Pausenhof” (Teacher’s Child – Life Sentence on the Playground), published in October 2011. This book struck a chord with readers, and it remained on the Spiegel-Bestsellerliste (Spiegel Bestseller List) for several weeks.
Building on this accomplishment, Bielendorfer continued to create novels. He published “Lebenslänglich Klassenfahrt – Mehr vom Lehrerkind” (2013); it debuted in the top ten bestseller list and was titled “Life Sentence School Trip – More from the Teacher’s Child.” He also made the top ten of the Spiegel-Bestsellerliste with his book “Mutter ruft a – Mein Anschiss unter dieser Nummer” (Mom’s Calling – My Scolding Under This Number) in 2014.
