Azad’s Biography, Wikipedia
Azad is a German rapper who was born on November 24, 1973. He is believed to be of Kurdish descent and he lives in Frankfurt in Germany. His influence on the German rap scene is enormous. Azad at the age of 10 made his way to Germany at a time he was involved in graffiti, beatboxing, rap and hip-hop.
Later in 1988, Azad teamed up with the likes of D-Flame, A-Bomb and Combad to form the group Cold-N-Locco. It must be emphasized that the group changed it’s name to Asiatic Warriors in 1990. The group had songs in English, German, Persian and Kurdish and as a matter of fact, the group was quite successful. The group had a deal with Ruff n Raw Label. The group collapsed due to internal differences between the members.
Azad continued with music in 1999 as a solo artist and he was signed to Pelham Power Productions. He won ‘Da Swing DJ Battle’. Azad also released his single ‘Napaim’ as well as his solo album, Leben.
Azad formed Bozz Music in 2004 and it was the urban music wing of Universal Music. He also teamed up with Chaker, Jeyz, Lunafrow and Sezai to form the group called Warheit. Also in 2004, Azad released Der Bozz, his third album, which made it to the German Albums Top 10.
Unfortunately, the album was tagged as violent and not good for the youth by the Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons. Without a doubt, Azad’s collaboration with German rapper, Kool Savas can be said to be his biggest commercial success on the music scene.
