Steve Jobs was an American business magnate, investor and inventor. He was born on February 24, 1955, and was the co-founder, chairman and CEO of Apple. He was also the chairman and majority shareholder of Pixar and a member of the Walt Disney Company’s board of directors.
Steve Jobs was also the chairman, founder and CEO of NeXT. It is important to note that Steve Jobs was a pioneer so far as the personal computer revolution of the 1970s and 1980s is concerned.
He worked hand in hand with his business partner and co-founder of Apple, Steve Wozniak.
Steve Jobs was born in San Francisco. His father was a Syrian and his mother was a German American. Steve Jobs in 1972 attended Reed College but later dropped out. He traveled through India in 1974 seeking enlightenment but with time, he studied Zen Buddhism.
He co-founded Apple with Wozniak in 1976 to sell off Wozniak’s Apple I personal computer. Steve Jobs and Wozniak became famous and wealthy due to the production and sale of Apple II.
Steve Jobs through the commercial potential of the Xerox Alto in 1979 developed Apple Lisa in 1983 which turned out not to be successful. In 1984, there was the introduction of Macintosh and it introduced the desktop publishing industry in 1985 as well as Apple Laser writer.
Due to some disagreements between between Steve Jobs and Apple’s board and John Sculley who was then the CEO, Steve Jobs departed Apple. He then founded NeXT after assembling a few Apple employees in his fold.
He also helped in the development of the visual effects industry by funding the computer graphics division of George Lucas’ Lucasfilm in 1986. Steve Jobs made a return to Apple in 1997 as CEO after the acquisition of NeXT. Steve Jobs was responsible for reviving Apple which was becoming bankrupt.
Steve Jobs Cause of Death
Steve Jobs died at his Palo Alto, California home around 3 p.m. on October 5, 2011. His death was caused by complications from a relapse of his previously treated islet-cell pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor.
The complications resulted in a respiratory arrest. A day before his death, he lost consciousness and unfortunately died in the presence of his wife, children and sisters.
