Erika Steinbach can be described as a right-wing German politician who was born on July 25, 1943. Between 1990 and 2017, Erika Steinbach served as an honorable member of the Bundestag.
It must also be noted that she was a member of the Christian Democratic Union from 1974 to 2017. She also served on the national board of the Christian Democratic Union from 2000 to 2010. The father of Erika Steinbach was Wilhelm Karl Hermann, who was in Hanau. He was stationed in Rumia, a village in the Second Polish Republic in 1941. It was then occupied by Nazi Germany in 1939 as part of the newly created province of Reichsgau Danzig-West Prussia. The mother of Erika Steinbach was Erika Hermann.
Erika Steinbach served in the capacity of the President of the Federation of Expellees between 1998 and 2014. She had her studies in music and had worked with some concert ensembles before she switched to do politics.
She became a member of the Frankfurt branch of the Christian Democratic Union in 1977. She was elected a member of the Frankfurt City Council in 1977. She served in that position till 1999.
Erika Steinbach was also elected as a member of the Bundestag for the Frankfurt am Main III constituency in 1990 and she served till 1998. She expressed her disapproval of the German-Polish Border Treaty in 1990 and voted against it. Later in 1997, she also spoke against the acceptance and approval of the Czech-German Declaration of Reconciliation.
