Ernest Owusu-Bempah, the Deputy Communications Officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has made headlines with his bold declaration that the party’s future success in the upcoming 2028 elections hinges on two key figures: Kennedy Agyapong and Bryan Acheampong. This statement came via his social media platform on April 7, 2025, suggesting a mix of political insight and prophetic foresight.
Kennedy Agyapong, a former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, and Bryan Acheampong, who currently serves as the MP for Abetifi, have been highlighted by Owusu-Bempah as key players in the NPP’s journey.
His post indicated that he believed their leadership reflects the collective will of the party’s supporters. “The future of the NPP depends on these two guys… Prophetic! Ala AFA—the voice of the people,” he expressed, emphasizing his confidence in their potential to lead.

This announcement comes on the heels of Agyapong’s last attempt in the NPP’s presidential primary in 2024, where he contested against Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, ultimately finishing second as Bawumia proceeded to the general elections but faced defeat against the NDC’s John Dramani Mahama.
Owusu-Bempah’s assertions have sparked discussions among party members and political analysts, who are keen to understand the dynamics of leadership as the NPP gears up for the electoral battle ahead. He followed up his proclamation with another social media message filled with optimism, stating, “Hope IS COMING!!!… Eshie Rado Rado… Change is coming!!!” which reflects a revitalized spirit within the party as it looks toward future opportunities.
The NPP is at a crucial juncture, and the emphasis on Agyapong and Acheampong as transformative figures suggests a push for rejuvenation.
