Rita Rusic’s Biography
Rita Rusić, also known as Rita Cecchi Gori, is a Croatian-born Italian producer, actress, and singer. Born on May 16, 1960, in Poreč, Croatia, she began her career as a model before transitioning into the film industry.
Rusi began her modelling career at the age of 17 in Milan. She worked on magazine and television advertising campaigns for businesses such as Fiat, Tampax, Timex, and Cognac. She also won Miss Santamarina and Miss Zelena Laguna beauty pageants. Rusi met and married filmmaker Vittorio Cecchi Gori while studying medicine at the University of Milan.
Rusi made her acting debut in the film “Attila flagello di Dio” in 1982. Throughout the 1980s, this role led to more acting possibilities. During this time, she also explored a music career, releasing two songs, “Love Me or Leave Me Now” in 1984 and “Sex Without Love” in 1985.
Rusi changed her concentration to film production in the early 1990s. She rose to prominence as a producer, having worked on over 80 films, many of which were successful not only in Italy but also internationally.
She produced notable films like as “The Star Maker” (1995), which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, and “Life is Beautiful” (1997), which won three Oscars and numerous other significant prizes.
