How To Transfer Airtime On MTN
You can transfer airtime on MTN using MTN Me2U service or using MTN mobile money service. We have provided the details below.
Method 1: Using MTN Me2U Service
To use MTN Me2U service, you need to first register it (either via SMS or USSD). Please follow the steps below to register MTN Me2U:
To register MTN Me2U via SMS, type ‘register’, leave a space, enter a 4-digit PIN and send to 1329.
To register MTN via USSD, dial *198#, select 1 ‘Activate’, choose a new PIN, re-enter that new PIN. After, you will receive a confirmation of successful registration.
How To Transfer Airtime From One MTN Number To Another MTN Number
Now, after the registration, we can proceed to the steps involved in transferring airtime on MTN using MTN Me2U service. Please follow the steps below:
- First of all, dial *198# and select option 2 (transfer)
- Enter the recipient’s number
- Enter the amount you want to send to the person
- Enter your four digit MTN Me2U pin code
- Press 1 to confirm transaction
- You will receive an alert in your SMS inbox indicating the airtime has been transferred successfully
Method 2: Using MTN Mobile Money
Another method to transfer MTN airtime to other numbers is by using MTN mobile money services. Please follow the steps below:
- First of all, dial *170# and select option 3 (Airtime And Bundles)
- After, select option 1 (Airtime) and enter option 2 (others)
- Enter the amount you want to send
- Enter the recipient’s number
- Enter your MTN mobile money PIN code to complete the process
- You will receive an SMS in your inbox indicating you have successfully transferred an airtime via your mobile money wallet or account.
How To Transfer Airtime From MTN To Other Networks (Vodafone)
Follow the steps below to transfer airtime or credit from MTN to other networks:
- First of all, dial *170# and select option 3 (Airtime And Bundles)
- After, select option 1 (Airtime). From there, select option 4 (Other networks)
- Enter the recipient’s mobile number
- Re-enter the recipient’s mobile number
- Enter the amount you want to send and then confirm by typing 1
- Enter your mobile money PIN code to confirm transaction
- You’re done, you’ll receive a confirmatory message in your SMS inbox for a successful transaction
