Laura Loomer is an American far-right political activist, conspiracy theorist, and internet personality who was born on May 21, 1993. She was raised in Arizona with her two brothers.
She went to Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, but dropped out after just one semester, claiming she was discriminated against because of her conservative beliefs. After that, she proceeded to Barry University in Florida, where she earned a degree in broadcast journalism in 2015.
Loomer first gained national attention in 2015 while at Barry University. She secretly recorded officials discussing her proposal for a club named “Sympathetic Students in Support of ISIS.” The incident, released by Project Veritas, led to her suspension and criminal charges for recording without consent.
In 2016, she wore a burqa to a polling station as part of a stunt questioning voter ID laws. In 2017, she placed a burqa on New York City’s Fearless Girl statue during an anti-Sharia law protest.
Loomer has publicly referred to herself as a “proud Islamophobe” and “pro-white nationalism,” and her numerous anti-Muslim remarks have been widely denounced. Her statements have resulted in bans from Uber, Lyft, and several other networks, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
She lost against Democrat Lois Frankel in 2020 despite being the Republican candidate for Florida’s 21st congressional district. Also, she lost against incumbent Daniel Webster in the 2022 Republican primary for Florida’s 11th congressional district.
Trump reportedly encouraged him to publicly endorse conspiracy theories in April 2023, but senior advisors dissuaded him. By September 2024, her comments about Kamala Harris and other racial stereotypes sparked criticism even from conservatives like Marjorie Taylor Greene.
In April 2025, Loomer met with Trump in the Oval Office to argue that some staffers were not sufficiently committed to his agenda, and shortly after, several members of the National Security Council were fired.
