The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced an Easter break for Senior High Form 2 students under the Transitional Track system.
This break is set to occur from Thursday, April 17, through Monday, April 21, 2025, in order to give students the chance to celebrate Easter with their families.

In a recent communique issued on April 11, 2025, GES clarified that participation in the Easter break is not mandatory. The aim of this initiative is to provide students with the opportunity to travel home and engage in festivities during this significant time. The statement emphasized that any student preferring to remain on campus will have the option to do so, ensuring proper supervision is in place.
“Students who wish to travel home and celebrate the Easter festivities with their families should be given the opportunity to do so,” the GES statement read.
To add, the GES has stipulated that all students who choose to travel must return to their respective schools by Tuesday, April 22, 2025. This directive ensures that academic activities resume timely after the holiday.
Regional Directors of Education have been urged to relay this information to school heads for proper implementation, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and prepared for the upcoming break.
