Erwin Ruddel Cause of Death. What killed him

Erwin Josef Rüddel was a Christian Democratic Union (CDU) politician from Germany who was born in Bonn on December 21, 1955.

He served in the German Bundestag from 2009 until his death and was a devoted public servant. Before that, he was a member of the state parliament of the Rhineland-Palatinate from January to May 1987 and from 1998 to 2009.

Early Life and Education

Erwin was born in Bonn, and he was the son of Josef Rüddel. He was raised in Windhagen’s Hüngsberg neighborhood in the Westerwald region with his two younger brothers.

He studied economics after graduating from high school and obtained a degree in business administration. In the publishing industry, Rüddel started out as a commercial employee.

He then held the position of managing director of a Bad Arolsen senior citizens’ center from 1993 to 2009, which reflected his lifetime interest in social and medical issues.

Career

In 1972 Erwin started his political journey when he became a member of the CDU and its youth organization, the Junge Union (JU). He served on the board of the JU local association in Asbach from 1972 to 1988, holding the position of chairman for several years.

Additionally, he led the JU Windhagen as chairman from 1975 to 1981. His influence extended further as he became district chairman of the Junge Union Neuwied (1980–1988) and later served as deputy CDU district chairman from 1982 to 1992.

He was on the state executive committee of his party in the Rhineland-Palatinate from 1997 to 2001 and again from 2003 to 2008. Erwin served as the CDU Rhineland-Palatinate’s sports representative from 2012 to 2022.

Also, served as the chairman of the CDU district association in Neuwied from 2008 to 2022.

From 1984 until 1994 and again from 1999 until January 1, 2021, Rüddel was a member of the Neuwied district council. For 16 years until his departure in 2021, he served as the deputy parliamentary group leader after being appointed in 2005.

Additionally, he served as the CDU district council group’s environmental policy spokesman from 1987 to 1994 and was a member of the supervisory board of the waste recycling firm for the greater Koblenz area.

From January to May 1987 and November 1998 to November 2009, Erwin Rüddel was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament. By way of the state list, he succeeded Theo Zwanziger and began the 10th legislative period on January 15, 1987.

On November 9, 1998, he returned to the 13th legislative period, serving as **Werner Wittlich’s personal representative. For the Linz am Rhein/Rengsdorf constituency, Rüddel won a direct mandate in the state elections of 2001 and 2006.
