The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is prioritizing internal reflection over public scrutiny following its defeat in the recent 2024 general elections. Richard Ahiagbah, the party’s Director of Communications, revealed that the findings from a 12-member committee, led by Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye, will remain confidential.
During an interview with JoyNews in Accra, Ahiagbah emphasized the report is strictly for internal use. The report is intended to inform the party’s reform strategy as they prepare for the next elections in 2028. “This document is designed to guide our path forward,” he stated. He further added that, while the report will not be publicly available, key insights will still be communicated to party supporters through alternative channels.
Richard Ahiagbah highlighted that the recommendations within the report are geared toward shaping the party’s future actions and strategies.
“It is an internal document that will guide the party’s reform process and help position us for victory in 2028. So, while it may not have been explicitly stated, it is clearly implied that the document is not meant for public consumption,” Richard Ahiagbah said.
