Hit-and-run Driver Responsible for Deaths of two Former Achimota Students Has Been captured By Ghana Police

On March 7, a tragic incident happened during the night, where two former Achimota students were crashed by a vehicle. These students were identified as Davida and Lilian.

Witnesses at the scene narrated that after the driver had hit Davida and Lilian, he failed to stop. People present at the scene had no choice but to rush the victims, Davida and Lilian to the hospital. They arrived there around 12:02 AM, but unfortunately, it was too late.

Today, the families of Davida Asante Boateng and Lilian Akorli have made the public aware that the driver responsible for their tragic deaths has been arrested.

Ghanainsider was made aware that, both Davida and Lilian were not just friends; they were former residents of Stopford House and active members of the Old Achimota Association (OAA24). They were on their way back to the University Of Professional Studies (UPSA), Accra after a celebration at Achimota School when the unfortunate accident occurred along the Achimota Highway.

Alice Safoa, Davida Asante Boateng’s aunt, provided some vital updates on how the driver responsible for the tragic hit-and-run was caught:

“The incident happened around 10:30 AM. Police reported that the driver was arrested after a chase,” she narrated. But then, the hospital staff revealed the driver was seeking refuge because he feared brutalities from the witnesses at the scene. After his arrest, he was taken to the hospital as a result of health issues but has since recovered and returned to police custody.”

As the community mourns their loss, they equally hope for justice in this grievous case.
