Outspoken media sensation, Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah has strongly condemned Ghana’s renowned businessman, Ibrahim Mahama, brother of President John Mahama, for driving the president during official duties.
Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah made it known that this action is inappropriate and unacceptable, recommending that it should not be tolerated at all.
His remarks came in response to the viral videos circulating on various social media platforms, which show Ibrahim Mahama driving the president during his visit to flood-affected regions in the Volta Region.
Most Ghanaians have expressed their disapproval on social media, not in agreement with what Ibrahim Mahama, brother of President John Mahama has done.
On Okatakyie’s show dubbed “For The Records”, as reported by Ghanainsider, he emphasized that Ibrahim Mahama had no right to drive the president. His statement has been paraphrased below:
“Wealthy individuals should enjoy their wealths without overstepping boundaries. While it’s obvious that you may benefit from the government, such actions shouldn’t be so explicit. We seek peace—take a step back. Is it appropriate for the President of the Republic of Ghana to be driven by his brother during official visits? Are we okay with this? Our governance has been reduced to an unacceptable level, and no one seems to mind because it involves Ibrahim Mahama. The president has at least three drivers, and traditionally, the official driver is not meant to be driving him. From Atta Mills to Akufo-Addo, private drivers have been recruited into the service. If you believe Ibrahim Mahama should be the one driving the president, inform us so we can officially assign him as your driver. Then we could have formal records citing that Ibrahim Mahama is the new driver for the president. What is going on here?’ he questioned.”
