Johann König can be described as a German comedian who was born on June 21 , 1972, in Soest. It must be noted that Johann König trained as a pediatric nurse in Lippstadt and subsequently studied at the German Sport University in Cologne and the Faculty of Special Education in Cologne.
It must be noted that in 1997, Johann König made an appearance at the open microphone in the former ZapZarap in Cologne and that was his first time. He received the German Comedy Prize as “Discovery of the Year” in 2001 and he also toured Germany with the guitarist Dr. Paul.
Johann König was also honored with the Bavarian Cabaret Prize in 2002 as “Whirlwind Artist of the Year”. He celebrated the premiere of the program Without rehearsals to the top (Eastern variant: Without practising to the top ) together with Helmut Sanftenschneider in the Gloria Theater in Cologne on October 12, 2003, and also celebrated his solo program Johann König Eskaliert in 2006.
He subsequently worked on his first book titled Stammelte Werke in Lappan-Verlag which contained poems and stories about his views on life. Over the years, Johann König is known to have several appearances on television and radio; he was heard as “Der Trendchecker” with a weekly radio comedy on 1LIVE.
Some of the awards he has won over the years include 2001: German Comedy Prize – “Discovery of the Year”, 2001: Munich Tollwood Artist Prize, 2002: Bavarian Cabaret Prize – “Whirlwind”, 2002: 2nd Bad Nauheim cabaret festival – audience award “The Great Mathilde”, 2005: Audience Award at the Great Vole Cabaret Festival, 2010: German Comedy Prize for Totally Bock auf Remmi Demmi, category best TV solo program and 2020: Berlin Prize of the Great Vole Cabaret Festival.
